The Royce is both a downtown Detroit wine bar and retail wine store, with the focus on value wines. A renovated space that is cool and urban-chic. Very comfortable and friendly venue; very knowledgeable staff. The wine selection is broad and diverse and stored along the walls for easy customer selection. The wines highlight the best small-batch producers from all major wine regions of the world. The wine bar features wines from producers that practice organic, biodynamic, and low intervention winemaking. Weekly Wednesday wine tasting. Nice patio near a downtown park.
Downtown Detroit
Downtown Detroit’s premier high-end, downtown wine bar and restaurant. Vertical Detroit serves as a wine bar/restaurant/retail space in the historic Paradise Valley district of Downtown Detroit. Although a great restaurant, this venue has an amazing selection of fine- and value-wines - the wine list is a book of several hundred varietals from around the world. The staff is very wine knowledgeable; it is not uncommon for staff to be pursuing Master Sommelier courses. The renovated below-street-level space offers a warm, inviting space to enjoy your wine. Great outdoor patio in-season.
Downtown Detroit
An historic building used by Ladder Company 4 of the Detroit Fire Department until 2000 is reborn as Ladder 4 Wine Bar, a stylishly renovated gathering spot, event space and wine shop. Features natural wines from France, Italy, Spain. Selection includes Romania, Serbia and Hungary. After opening, a food menu was added, now a wine bar/store/restaurant. Outdoor patio & rooftop.

Midtown Detroit's spanish wine bar and mercado. A wonderful selection of value Spanish wines (and some French for variety). Connected to the La Feria Spanish Tapas restaurant - good wine and good food. The wines are available along the walls. Just a nice relaxing place to enjoy Spanish (and French) wines. There is a small patio when the season permits.
Midtown Detroit Neighborhood
This member of the best downtown Detroit wine bars is a wonderful wine bar and wine retail wine shop with selections from all over the world. They offer wine tastings, pairings and private events in a sophisticated atmosphere without the pretension. Staff is very wine-knowledgeable. Very comfortable venue, great place to relax and enjoy a glass or bottle.
Rivertown/Warehouse District
Detroit wine bar and wine store located adjacent, and connected, to the Red Hook Coffee Cafe - Greenway. The wine bar's selection is somewhat limited (intentionally), but the wines are very good value-wines. Purchase wine by the bottles to take home or to enjoy on-site; or order select wines by the glass. Get something to eat at nearby Breadless Sandwiches and empanada shop, Empacho. Outdoor patio seating when weather permits.
