The Music Hall Center for the Performing Arts is located in the city's theatre district in Downtown Detroit. It was built in 1928 as the Wilson Theatre and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1977. The Music Hall is Detroit’s “people’s theater” – the place for high quality performing arts and education with an emphasis on dance, theater and music, particularly jazz.
